Shivaji black and white film at Toronto

Shivaji Chandrabhushan’s black and white film, frozen will be a part of discovery section of Toronto international film festival 2007.
The film is based on life in Ladakh and was shot in extreme conditions at height of 1500 ft above sea level with temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius. Shivajee had most of actors who could bear extreme climatic conditions and senior most was Danny Denozongpa.

Film was shot in black and white for interest of creativity. The film was actually shot in color and was converted to digital intermediate black and white in a lab in los angeles. Director had tried many labs in India to get black and white version but none gave him satisfied results so he walked to US and got excellent results.

The team had tough time shooting for film in Ladakh and carried everything along with them. It was tedious and expensive process of shooting film which completed in a month.

Vijay movie Sold for 25 Crores

ALAGIZA THAMILMAGAN starred by Vijay, Sreya, Namitha produced by Appachan and directed by Bharathan has been sold at a whooping amount of Rs.25 crores to Pyramid Saimara who is holding worldwide rights of this film. This is the first time Vijay’s film being sold at this highest rate next to Rajini’s film. The film is likely to be completed by September 15th.
The film is being released for Deepavali. The distributors have planned to release this film in 241 theatres in South India alone.

Aishwarya Rai tried to insult Rani

Aishwarya Rai Abhishek Bachchan has a soft corner for Rani Mukherjee and some time back it was believed that the two will tie a knot. Aishwarya Bachchan feels very insecure about her husband close friendship with actress.
Aishwarya accompanied Abhishek to sets of film Laaga Chunari Mein Daag which has Rani Mukherjee as lead actress opposite Abhishek. Aishwarya gave a cold shoulder to Rani on the sets. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan passed rude comments about Rani and kept staring her. After every take she tried to find mistakes of Rani and kept praising herself.


Aish was on the sets of the film for whole day and not even spoke for a single minute with Rani and neither even allowed Abhishek to talk with her between shots.

Laaga Chunari Mein Daag also features Konkona Sen, Jaya Bachchan, Kunal Kapoor, Kirron Kher, Anupam Kher and Farida Jalal. Film is being produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj films banners and is directed by Pradeep Sarkar with music by Shantanu Moitra. Film will be released on October 12.

Chak de India at Oscar library

The academy of motion pictures arts and sciences called Yash Chopra productions office for a copy of screenplay of Chak de India. They have decided to add copy to permanent script collection.

The script of Chak de India will be resided along with other legendary films at Margaret Herrick library. The screenplays are used by students, filmmakers, writers and actors for research. Chak de can be viewed in library but will not be circulated nor can it be photocopied.

Director and writer Shimit Amin is overjoyed to learn that his film will be a part of Oscar’s library. Chak de India was released in Hindi, Urdu and English all over the world and received good reviews.
