The actress will be a part of a conference for the United Nations, and will be addressing the issue of ‘human trafficking’ in New Delhi, along with Bollywood hunk,John AbrahamShe is one actress whose wings are spread beyond films.Amisha Patel, these days is busy with something more serious and meaningful. The actress will be a part of a very prestigious conference for the United Nations, and will be addressing the issue of ‘human trafficking’ in New Delhi, along with Bollywood hunk, John Abraham, Renuka Chaudhary, Oscar Fernandes amongst others.
This programme, followed by a dinner will be attended by industrialists, corporate honchos, politicians and several prominent personalitites from other South Asian countries.
“It’s a very prestigious thing for me. While doing my research to talk on it, I was shocked to find out that, in the entire South of Asia, human trafficking problem is much more than even the dreaded drugs problem. The intensity to which countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and India are involved is shocking. So if I can, with my platform as an actress, help create awareness amongst people, I will be happy,” she says.
Her interest in the subject of human trafficking started years ago, through one of her university professors.“He later joined the UN. He had introduced me to this. I remember taking keen interest in it and even preparing a special report and all that. Now that I will be talking on it in a conference organsied by the UN, looks like life has come a full circle. I am really happy,” she adds.Meanwhile, the petite actress is waiting for her next release Bhool Bhulaiya with Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja and Vidya Balan. Recently reports were rife that Amisha was upset with the makers for not promoting her like the rest of the cast. But now, with her attention getting diverted towards more concrete stuff, Amisha, we hope will forget and move ahead. Patience does pay someday. What say Amisha?

Eros International has signed Kajol opposite husband Ajay Devgan for TOONPUR KA SUPER HERO, a 3D film with animation. The film marks Eros’ second production with the husband-wife duo after YOU, ME AND HUM.

Akshay’s role is a very challenging one in the movie. He has always been doing different roles but this would certainly be the most outstanding one. No wonder, Akshay is excited about his role in the movie. The movie is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Bhushan Kumar. It is being said that Bhool Bhulaiyya is a remake of the telugu movie ‘Chandramukhi’ which was a huge hit. Well. Im sure even this one will be a huge hit and Akshay will surely be outstanding in this movie. I saw the promos and really loved them, Im just waiting for the movie to release so that I can watch it!

Diya Mirza :Popular MTV VJ and theatre actor Kunal Vijaykar is all set to venture into Bollywood.His first film will be produced by the Studio 18 group and is titled Fruit N Nut.This film will have Kunal’s close friend and MTV VJ Cyrus Brocha and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.It is also believed that Diya Mirza will be the leading lady of the film. After that Priyadarshan has done a few more films lwith other stars and managed some moderate successful films. But it was in 2005 that he teamed up with Akshay again and delivered another hit in Garam Masala, which was the directors biggest Bollywood hit until then with around Rs 27 crores. Just after one year of that film they both again came up with even bigger hit in the form of Bhagam Bhag. The film did very well at the box office and grossed around 42 crore rupees.
Now Akshay and Priyadarshan are coming up with their fourth project titled Bhool Bhulaiyaa. This may happen on 12th, October. The video trailers are out and already creating some enthusiasm among the audience. As the music album has already become a hit very soon, it wouldn’t be a big surprise, if the film turned out to be another block buster in their combination.

He’s also excited about his upcoming album with the rapper.Aadesh, who has been working on his ‘rock star’ physique and image, says the Sep 9 show was truly exhilarating.
“It was an exclusive charity event called ‘One By One Life Belongs To Everyone’. We performed a fusion track called ‘Bollywood Meets Hollywood’ for an august gathering. In the audience we had names like Matt Damon, Phil Fontaine, super-model/activist Petra Nemcova and athlete Kevin Lin. On stage it was Shakira, Wyclef and I jamming the night away.”The composer was overwhelmed by audience response and Shakira’s attitude.”The ovation I got was unprecedented. Though Shakira had come to Mumbai last year, I met her for the first time in Toronto. She’s so down to earth and so hard working.
Though she must have sung ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ umpteen times, she still rehearsed it seven-eight times before going on stage,” Aadesh said.After the show Shakira and Aadesh were at a charity dinner where she reportedly showered praises on him. “Yes,” admits Aadesh, “she had very nice things to say.”The composer is now upbeat about his album with Jean.”I think Indian music is finally coming into its own in the West. My album with Wyclef Jean is tentatively entitled ‘Carnival’ and will be out in November. I’ve done ragas, alaaps and Indian rhythms. I’m hoping Lataji will contribute some alaaps to the album.”

Leave a Comment Tisca Chopra, who made her debut with Ajay Devgan in Platform, has landed herself a plum role in Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par and says it’s an opportunity of a lifetime for her. “For someone who has waited on the fringes for so long, my role is like a heaven-sent opportunity,” the Hyderabad Blues 2 actress says. “There are only four principal characters in the film and I am one of them. I play mother to the boy Darsheel Safary. He has to be seen to be believed! The boy is that good,” she adds.
The actress, who tried her luck on TV in serials like Astitva Ek Prem Kahaani and Sarrkar, describes the experience of working with Aamir as director as an eye-opener. “He’s a wonderful human being and great person to work with. Taare Zameen Par belongs in the life-changing genre of Rang De Basanti and Swades.” Remind her of the fact that Amol Gupte was earlier directing the film, and Tisca goes blank. “As far as I’m concerned Aamir was always directing Taare Zameen Par.”
